We’ve got everything you need to convert your automatic transmission to a manual transmission. Just follow these simple steps:

nStep 1 – Remove the existing transmission

nFirst thing’s first, remove the old transmission. You can do this by removing the two bolts holding the shifter in place. Then pull the shifter back and out of the way. Next, disconnect the wiring harnesses and the shift cable connecting the shifter to the transmission.

nStep 2 – Install the transmission
n
nNext, install the transmission. First, slide the transmission over the engine block. Then, use the supplied torque wrench to tighten the bolts securing the transmission to the engine block. Use a socket wrench to tighten the bolts attaching the trans cooler bracket to the intake manifold. Finally, attach the shifter to the new transmission using the provided hardware.

nStep 3 – Connect the cables

nNow that the transmission is installed, connect the wires to the new transmission. Start with the clutch wire, followed by the brake line. Connect the remaining parts in order starting with the fuel pump, followed by the throttle body and lastly the ignition coil. Once finished, test drive your Mustang!

nStep 4 – Adjust the shifter position
n
nTo adjust the shifter position, loosen the bolt located under the shifter arm. Slide the shifter forward until you reach your desired gear. Tighten down the bolt once again. Repeat this step until you’re satisfied with the position.

nStep 5 – Test Drive

nOnce you’re done adjusting the shifter, test drive your Mustang. Make sure everything works properly before proceeding to the final step.

nStep 6 – Final Preparations
n
nBefore installing the final piece of the transmission, we recommend adding some oil to the transmission case. Add enough oil to cover the entire interior of the transmission case. Be careful not to add too much oil, just enough to coat the inside of the transmission case.
